As a competitive athlete throughout high school and into her nursing school years, Shannon was unaware of the benefits of nutrition and performance. It was not until she embarked on doing marathons and triathlons that she discovered the concept of better nutrition for her body during endurance events.
Fast forward to 2011 when she started CrossFit and was introduced to various modes of eating, like Paleo and the Zone Diet. As a result, her eating got cleaner, she initially lost weight and felt more confident. Despite re-discovering her new found body and fitness, there were missing pieces in her nutrition journey. With her increased activity level, she started to notice her food intake was not aligned for her body’s requirements.
Onward to January 2015. Following several careers transitions and life events, she found herself at an all-time high weight of 183lbs. With this realization, she enrolled in a flexible eating and coaching program. Throughout her first year and half of working with a nutrition coach, she saw quantifiable, visible changes in her appearance and performance. Even with her promising results, she tried to do the program without staying consistent or paying attention to food quality.
October 1st, 2016 marked a pivotal turning point in her nutrition journey. She chose to incorporate integrity into her health and nutrition. This was about being fully committed to following her nutrition program as designed and consistently training. Through that commitment, she saw results she never thought possible.
Grounded in her own experience of peaks and troughs of a nutrition journey, understanding what it takes to fully commit, shifting old nutritional behaviors and beliefs to create new habits, Shannon brings a profound commitment to making a difference for people. Her coaching goal is to partner with clients to create a custom, results-focused program that will help you achieve your goals and produce the results you have been looking for.
